Norooz, the Persian New Year, marks the beginning of spring and is celebrated on the vernal equinox. It is a day filled with joy and excitement. On this day, families gather around the Haft-Seen, a table set with seven items starting with the letter 'S' in Persian. Each item has its own symbolism, representing life, health, prosperity, and love. The morning of Norooz begins with a special family breakfast, including traditional foods like Sabzi Polo (herb rice) and Mahi (fish). Children receive new clothes and Eidi, gifts of money, from their elders. Everyone wishes one another 'Sale No Mobarak,' which means 'Happy New Year.' During this festive day, people visit relatives, friends, and neighbors, reminiscing about the past year and sharing hopes for the new year. It is also common to go to a park for a picnic, enjoying the beauty of blooming nature. Norooz is not only about celebration; it is also a time for cleaning and renewal. Prior to the new year, families perform a 'spring cleaning' known as Khaneh Tekani to welcome the new year into a fresh, clean home. A Norooz day is filled with tradition, love, and hope for the future, creating memories that will last throughout the year. بفرما تاج
