The heart is a muscle that pumps blood through the body. It has four chambers: two atria (upper) and two ventricles (lower).
The right atrium gets oxygen-poor blood from the body, and the left atrium gets oxygen-rich blood from the lungs.
The right ventricle pumps blood to the lungs, and the left ventricle pumps blood to the body.
The heart beats continuously to deliver oxygen and nutrients to the body.
