Yalda Night or Chelleh Night is one of the oldest Iranian festivals.[1] This celebration was registered as a World Heritage Site on 9 Azar 1401 as the birth of Mehr (an Iranian god). This celebration commemorates the longest night of the year and the subsequent lengthening of the days in the Northern Hemisphere, which coincides with the winter solstice.[2] Chelleh Night is the period between sunset on 30 Azar (the last day of autumn) and sunrise on 1 Dain (the first day of winter). Iranian families usually prepare and eat various fruits on this night, most commonly watermelon, pomegranates, and persimmons. Reading the Shahnameh and[3] storytelling by family elders to other family members, as well as fortune-telling with the Divan of Hafez, are also common.[1] However, in countries in the Southern Hemisphere, unlike the Northern Hemisphere, Midsummer Night's Eve is the shortest night of the year.[4] بیا عزیزم این میشه
